Barun Sobti Biography
Popular TV screen guy, Barun Sobti is a heartthrob among millions of youngsters. He was born on 21st August, 1984 in Delhi. Barun was born in a Punjabi family. He did his schooling from St. Mark's School, Meera Bagh. He pursued his graduation from his birth place as well. He stands tall at 5 feet, 8 inches.

Before entering the small screen industry, Barun worked as an Operation Manager in Jindal Telecom for almost seven years. But he was always fascinated by the television industry. He loves to watch all Aamir Khan Movies as Aamir Khan is his favourite actor. His Favourite actress is Sonali Bendre.

Barun stepped into the TV world through modeling. He featured in various advertisements like ‘Ford Figo’, ‘Hero Honda Passion Pro’, ‘Dulux Paints, ‘Reliance Big TV’, to name a few.

He made his debut with the serial ‘Shradhha’ as ‘Swayam Khurana’ aired on Star Plus. He was next seen in the most popular youth show ‘Dill Mill Gayye’, on the channel ‘Star One’, playing the role of a medical intern as ‘Dr. Yuvraaj’ aka ‘Raaj’.

Initially, he was not such a popular face on Indian Television. He gained popularity by playing the lead role in the daily soap ‘Baat Humari Pakki Hai’ aired on Sony Entertainment Television in the year 2010-11. In this show, he played the character of ‘Shravan Jaiswal’, an irresponsible guy opposite ‘Ankita Sharma’, who played the role of his wife ‘Saanchi’. Barun ‘Shravan’ Sobti in this serial plays a spoilt brat; the son of a rich father and is very carefree, hurting people unintentionally. Saanchi (Ankita) plays a 21 year old girl who is mature with a simple family background. She loses her parents in an accident and is therefore brought up by her aunt. She has to get married to this guy (Barun) due to family pressure. Both of them used to get into constant conflicts owing to contrasting personalities. Then the story of how they ended up falling in love. They both made one of the most favourite ‘jodi’.

In real life, Barun is married to his childhood friend Pashmeen Manchanda. She is not from the TV industry. She is believed to work in a multinational company. They got married in a traditional Punjabi style. Their wedding ceremony was very simple which was held in a Gurudwara, as revealed from some sources. They tied the knot on 12th December, 2010. The occasion was held in the presence of some close friends and relatives.

The 28 year actor won million of hearts with his killer looks as well as his brilliant acting skills.
He bagged the lead role in one of the most popular romantic drama ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ (IPKKND), aired on Star Plus in the year 2011. In this daily soap, Barun played the role of a male protagonist, an arrogant business tycoon named ‘Arnav Singh Raizada’,
who neither believed in God nor in love until he met his soul mate, ‘Khushi’ portrayed by Sanaya Irani.
They shared a very good onscreen chemistry which fetched them many awards like the ‘Star Parivar Awards, 2012’, for the title of both ‘Favourite Jodi’ and ‘Favourite International Jodi’, ‘Indian Telly Awards, 2012’, for ‘Best On-screen Couple’, ‘People’s Choice Awards India’ for ‘Favourite Onscreen Jodi’

also in the year 2012, to name a few. The duo also got nominated for various Awards namely ‘Zee Gold Awards, 2012’ for ‘Best Onscreen Couple’ and so-on.
Not only this, Barun ‘Arnav’ Sobti also won many awards to his name such as ‘The Global Indian Film and TV Honors 2012’ for ‘Best Actor (Popular)’ for ‘IPKKND’, ‘Star Parivar Awards, 2012’ for ‘Favourite Naya Sadasya (Male)’,
as well as ‘Favourite Stylish Sadasya (Male)’ etc. Barun also got Nominations for ‘Indian Telly Awards, 2012’ for ‘Best TV Personality’, ‘Big Star Young Entertainer Awards’ for ‘Big Star Young Super Entertainer (Male)’ etc.

Currently, the talented actor has decided to try his luck in the big screen. There is gossip that he got many calls from the film industry.

He has accepted some of the offers and has signed for a film named ‘Main Aur Mr. Right’, opposite Shehnaz Treasurywala, also co-starring Ravi Shastri. The film is based on Cricket and is slated to release on July, 2013. He recently visited Kolkata for shooting for his second film, titled tentatively as ‘22 Yards’, to be directed by Mitali Goshal. At present, the handsome hunk

seems to concentrate on this project and read other scripts to decide on his next move.
